자연을 사랑하고 그리는 작가 이야기

Please join us on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at 7 PM (PT) / 10 PM (ET) as Sammy Koh takes us on a journey of a landscape artist and a parent during the COVID-19 era. She will share how the pandemic changed her career direction and shaped her current artwork style. This webinar is great for anyone who is struggling to find a passion for work or life.

My landscape paintings are a warm transfer from photographs that capture memories of fleeting moments. Using fine details and vibrant warm colors, I invite the audience to be emersed in the scene completely to reflect on their deep and honest feelings. I am fascinated by the remarkable colors the sunlight creates, especially during sunrise and sunset. My paintings are emotional responses to the ordinary scenes that embody a memory that once existed.
— Sammy Koh

Sammy Koh is a realist landscape painter living in the Bay Area with her family. Her inspiration comes from the range of colors beyond what we normally encounter in our daily lives. Naturally, she enjoys the quiet and the tranquility of these hours, as she often finds herself working on her paintings when everyone else is asleep. Sammy is often accompanied by her daughter when out taking photographs for her paintings. While her paintings remain motionless, her memory of the place she once visited with her daughter is brushed onto her artwork. Sammy's work has been featured in issue 13.2 "Sight and Sound" of Content Magazine. Her work will be exhibited at the Finding Sanctuary (3/27-5/10, online) and at the 36th Annual Made in California Juried Exhibition (4/24-6/18).
