Life can be tough sometimes. It’s important to make sure you take good care of your body, mind, and soul every day, and here we present Simple Steps to improve your mental health and take better care of yourself. If you feel you are exhausted, stressed, or unwell, join this program that provides some tools to aid you in the recovery process. Workshop participants will learn how to take care of their minds and bodies every day and how to find self-worth to boost their self-esteem and confidence. They will also receive 1:1 feedback on mental health assessment from Dr. Bokyung Kim, our Program Director.

The 90-minute workshop will meet weekly on Tuesday at 7:30 PM (PT) for 4 weeks (Apr 20 - May 11, 2021).

Schedules

Week 1. Take care of yourself - 1. Your Body

  • Health habit self-assessment

  • Health habit planning

Week 2. Take care of yourself - 1. Your Mind

  • Are you stressed out?

  • Stress management and preventing burnout

Week 3. Introduction to Self-Esteem and Finding unconditional worth

  • What is Self-Esteem? 

  • What is self-worth and why it is important

  • How to recognize yourself

Week 4. Make a change

  • Choose to be happy

  • Build a healthy and supportive environment

Instructors

Dr. Bokyung Kim is a program director of Simple Steps. Her current works are developing self/career development programs, supporting job-seekers, and nurturing the environment where females can pursue their careers sustainably. She received her B.A. and M.A. in Psychology from Korea University and a Ph.D. degree in Psychology from Stanford University.

Notes

  • Space is limited and filled on a first-come-first-based. We will open a waitlist once the registration is full and inform you when a spot opens up.

  • A $15 deposit is required to join this group. If you complete two surveys and attend 4 live meetings, we will provide a full refund. If you miss a session and/or incomplete the surveys, the deposit will be donated to Simple Steps.

  • This workshop is part of our Mental Health Promotion for Korean Women program, which is funded by KACF-SF.

  • This program will be delivered in Korean without translation.
