Job Title: Social Service/Senior Program Coordinator

Company Overview : Korean Center, Inc. (KCI) is a non-profit organization based in San Francisco. KCI provides and promotes programs, events and information that illuminate Korean culture, assist Korean residing in the SF Bay Area and foster multicultural understanding among all cultures and generations.

Job Overview: Looking to the future, we endeavor to promote culture in the SF Bay by educational classes and cultural workshops and events for youth, adults and seniors throughout the year. The Position’s responsibilities will include (but not limited to) the day-to-day implementation of planned educational and social service activities for the KCI Social Service/Senior Program.

Responsibilities :: 

  • Plan, Coordinate and Manage Senior & Social Service Program

  • Attend a weekly staff meeting with the status report of the program prepared

  • Recruit and supervise qualified instructors or lecturer for the program

  • Recruit and manage volunteers for the programs/workshop

  • Attend social service events/workshops to improve the range of the KCI social service program (if necessary)

  • Work closely with Program instructors to initiate, implement and improve the program curriculum

  • Communicate closely with the seniors of the classes & workshops offered

  • Communicate with the seniors to provide referral services for the need that they need

  • Communicate closely with the vendors that work with the KCI programs

  • Create a KCI e-newsletter and update KCI website and social media

  • Create program banners/brochures/flyers

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications : :

  • Commitment to creating a good cultural experience to the community

  • Experience working at non-profit organizations

  • Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to clearly communicate logistics and project timelines

  • Proactive, and takes initiative, once masters a skill set seeks additional learning opportunities

  • Strong work ethic, including following qualities: organized, detail-oriented, flexible, reliable, goal-oriented, and dependable, with the ability to be an independent worker and able to handle several programs simultaneously while thriving in a team-based collaborative decision-making environment

  • Bilingual in Korean required

Job Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $18 to $19 /hour
